DJ Tiesto's answer to his fans - New Tiesto Style!

Tiesto is fully aware of what people think about his style now. He understands that his current style is a mixed blend of House|Techno|Trance. Tiesto claims that he never lost his love for Trance. He has travelled the world so much in past years that all the other genres of electronic music have started putting an effect on Tiesto. However, Trance still contributes the most to his style. Tiesto's 4 hours set is still very energetic and you can expect to hear more than 50% Trance. Tiesto answers his fans saying, " In 1998, I was really a Trance DJ, but now I've travelled round the world so much, different influences have seeped in and I play a bit of everything. I think the only way forward for DJs now is to play a diverse mix of sounds." World's famous music producer Timberland once asked Tiesto to do a remix of one of his songs and Tiesto felt that it was a very golden opportunity as Timberland is well reputed for what he brings into the music world. Tiesto hardly plays exclusively in clubs these days because very high profile gigs have taken his attention and propelled him to become a mainstream artist. Tiesto's fan now, are a mix of die hard clubbers who go to clubs all the time and the other ones who know Tiesto from a high-profile gig or from the radio. When people come to see Tiesto now; they're coming to a concert so Tiesto gives them a mix of both the interests.

God of Trance - Tiesto losing his popularity

DJ Tiesto is believed to be the God of Trance. Excuse me! Tiesto has been very popular between the years of 2002 and 2005. Well known for the only DJ who performed in front of 75,000 people and he was the first one to do an event like that. Tiesto also performed at the biggest event Olympics.

What now? If you search over the internet among the Trance forums, DJ Tiesto is not as liked anymore. Have people got bored with Tiesto style? NO. Do people don't like the way Tiesto looks anymore? No. It is mostly because Tiesto's music is becoming more and more mainstream these days. If you have seen Tiesto's Copenhagen DVD, you would know what I'm talking about. DJ Tiesto's music is a mix of House, Techno and Trance now a days. Few years back, what got DJ Tiesto really popular was his killing tunes of Trance. Remember, Trance! What would you do when you like someone so much and then he changes? The same thing happened here, a lot of Tiesto fans have lost interest in him and now they don't like Tiesto's music anymore.

I'll write more about this in the next post. You can subscribe if you want to be updated, Thanks!
Meanwhile, check out this awesome clip from Tiesto's Copenhagen DVD -2. This is the last Track - Nenes and Pascal Feliz - Platinum.

Electronic Music vs. Ecstasy

Why does Electronic music or Trance sound good on Ecstasy? I guess everyone has noticed that when you are on ecstasy the music sounds a lot better! The reason behind this is ecstasy affects your brain and your senses. It makes everything look and sound better. It also improves the capability of human body towards touch and feeling. Even though, Ecstasy is not necessary to enjoy good electronic music. Especially Trance is a genre which involves ecstasy intake by ravers. But here the question arises; Would you not enjoy Trance if you are not on ecstasy? The answer is YES for some and NO for the others. Actually, it depends when you go to a nightclub or an event, Are you there for the music or are you there for the drug intake?

Trance is enjoyed by millions of people without ecstasy. If you like Trance music because of Ecstasy, you are probably on the wrong path. Even though, I have nothing against Ecstasy users but I totally don't understand the people who think that Trance is all about taking pills and ecstasy. Trance is something very pure and beautiful and that is why when someone takes ecstasy it looks more pure and beautiful. I think the accusations being held towards Trance as a place of drug users are very wrong in a way. You can find places of different genres and there are people doing drugs there too. Trance is a dreamland, you just have to understand it and sometimes without ecstasy too.

Note: Accessive Ecstasy use can damage your life . Be responsible!

Another Hard Trance Nightclub in Melbourne (Aus.)

BUBBLE : This place is massive! It's near the Southern Cross Station. Southern Cross station was also called Spencer Street Station before. OK, this club has 2 floors. Hard Trance Anthems on 1st floor and House/Electro on 2nd. This place is so huge that the first time I went there I lost myself and then found out that I was running in circles. The first time I went there, it was so hilarious- It was 6'oclock in the morning and we were still dancing at Bubble. I asked my friend if he wanted to go to the other room and my friend started laughing. I asked him why he was laughing? But he didn't tell me anything. Anyway, so we did not go to the other room at bubble, I was asking for. After that, we left Bubble and my friend was still laughing. Then he told me that the other room I was talking about was actually a very huge mirror. Hilarious!

This place is open on Fridays and Saturdays. You need to go early because there is always a big cue infront of it. If you go before midnight you can have free unlimited complimentary beer on 2nd floor. How awesome! Checkout this awesome video from Bubble. The Hard Trance Place!

Is Trance Dead

http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm165/christiangubz/TranceEnergy.jpg
Trance will never Die!
Recently there have been many incidences in different countries where leaders and politicians are trying to ban places where they play Electronic Dance music. Especially the places which are open all night long. According to them, all EDM's invite use of drugs and criminal activities. Especially Trance, as it is believed that it is a genre which takes you to a fantasy land and makes you want to dream. Also, Trance mostly sounds good in hidden places, like Underground events and big concerts away from the main crowd.
Instead of concentrating on the matter itself, which is drug abuse and crime. Leaders like to concentrate on people who are having fun and are happy. Honestly speaking, if all the nightclubs are closed or banned; would that make the druggist not take drugs? This is like if you hurt your finger then would you try to heal that or would you cut your whole hand? The fact is the people who are into such things would still be doing it, no matter what.
Trance is such a great genre, after all the weeks hard work if people go to clubs to dance and enjoy good music. What is so wrong with that? People who don't like the clubbing scene need to get more mature and need to go out a little. You can not jump on to a conclusion until and unless you have been there and done that. LIVE LONG TRANCE!

Why is Tiesto so popular? See for yourself.

This was one crazy night. I went to Tiesto's - Elements of Life Concert in Melbourne, Australia. Even though I didn't have any money to buy the tickets for it. But this is how things worked out as they always do.

http://www.clubsguide.com.au/images/clubs/nights/465.jpg
OK, while drinking my beer at "All Nations" Bar on the corner of Spencers and Flinders Street, I saw this music magazine which had Tiesto's concert information. I started liking Tiesto when I used to go to Hard trance clubs in Melbourne. When I used to come back from the clubs in the morning, I had to start work in the bar without getting any sleep. So, after coming from the club I would take a shower and go to the bar and start cleaning and stocking drinks. That's when I used to listen to Tiesto, on the big Bar speakers, just by myself. I found his music very soothing at times. His sets and mixes are always giving a meaning to you and take you on a journey.

So, getting back to the topic, I had no money to go to his concert in Melbourne and the Concert was tomorrow. All the tickets were already sold but my friend found this one guy who was ready to sell his ticket. How could it have mattered to me, I didn't have any money for the ticket, so I just went to bed that night thnking that maybe some miracle would happen tomorrow and I would get to see Tiesto. Next day, I woke up and made few plans to get some money from somewhere. So, I went to Cash Converters and sold my stereo for 50 bucks. It was still not enough, the tickets were 110 bucks. So, I sold my phone too but for only 40 bucks. Now, I had 90 bucks to my name but still I was 20 bucks short. I went back to my hostel in sadness. But as soon as I reached my hostel I found this poster on the notice board that someone was selling a ticket for Tiesto's Concert for only 90 bucks. I felt so happy seeing that thing on the wall. I contacted that guy immediately and he said he would give me the tickets outside the concert.

Now, here is the worst part. I was waiting for the guy outside the concert and I saw him too, but he said, that he would sell the ticket for 100 bucks now. I had only 90 bucks to my name. I had an argument with the guy but it was of no use so I had to walk back home. On the way back home, I was just looking at all the people going to the concert; so happy! I kept walking and something happened. It is hard to believe that I found a 10 dollar note lying by the bus stop in the city. I took those 10 bucks, even though I looked around for the person who might have had lost it but there was no one. Then I rushed back to the concert, met up with that guy and got the ticket finally for 100 bucks.

I had the night of my life in the Concert. And that was the night I promised myself that I would become a successful DJ like Tiesto one day. From then till this date, I practice mixing as much as I can and I hope that I will get a chance to play my first big gig somewhere soon.

Hard Trance Shuffling in Melbourne, Australia

http://photos.friendster.com/photos/18/51/17791581/1944223811466l.jpg
Hard Trance is the way to go at few Nightclubs in Melbourne. The young generation love to shuffle on Hard Trance music. I was a big fan of shuffling when I was in Melbourne. It's such a nice feeling when you are shuffling. You can feel that you are really controlling the music. Every time you hit your step its on the beat ( That is if you are good at it ). People in Melbourne are so much into it that they would go to nightclubs at 10PM on Fridays and Saturdays and stay there till next day in morning.
Some of the nightclubs which play hard trance are:
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd49/howyawn/IMG_9124Marked.jpg
1. PHD ( Pure Hard Trance ): It is organised at Inflation on King St. . It's on every Saturday and it attracts a big crowd of young generation. They have 2 floors, they play electro on top roof as well, but they close at 2:00AM and after that you can come to the 1st floor where the hard trance anthems and hardstyle music goes on till 6:00AM in the morning. They have very cool merchandise too. I myself own a hoodie of Pure hard Dance (PHD)

http://www.gospelofdance.com.au/3Dphotos/1.jpg
2. "3D" : This place is called 3D. It has 3 floors of Trance Music. On first floor they play Hardstyle/Hardcore and Hard Trance anthems. On 2nd floor they play Happy Hardcore Trance and on 3rd floor they play Psychedelic Trance. It opens on Friday at 10:00PM, if you get there before 11:00PM you only have to pay AUD10.00 to get in which gets to AUD16.00 after 11. This place is mostly for ravers. There are a lot of people practicing there shuffle moves all night long. This place has such a nice crowd. Everybody is so friendly and welcoming. Sometimes I would even stay for a chat with the bouncer. The lights used in this place are just amazing. It's hard to find out when you are there totally drunk, because you probably don't notice as much but if you look at your photos the next day you would find funny images dancing around you.

Goa Trance

Goa Trance!!!!!!!!!I went to Goa on New year's, it was amazing! It's a very beautiful place for trance music. A very nice place which I liked is called, "Curly Shacks", it's on Anjuna Beach and it's quite famous. When you are in Goa, you can actually feel the trance music and it's more when you are around the beach. It's really bad that the Government has banned open beach parties after 10PM, which is a bit sad but I think it'll still stay alive.Goa Trance is more towards the psychedelic trance. The bass lines are very strong and the bpms are high too. I'm not much into psychedelic but I like some tracks. There is this festival which is organized in December at Goa. It's called SUNBURN, a lot of international DJ's come there with local ones too. It's a 3 day festival on the beach with after parties later on.
